Cosmetics, skin creams, shampoos, conditioners, deodorants, etc. what the labels don’t tell you.
Seemingly common sounding ingredients where toxins and carcinogens can be lurking. Here are a few just to get you to thinking, then do your own research: Lanolin can be contaminated with organo-phosphate pesticides and insecticides that often come in contact with the sheep’s wool. Fragrance can indicate the presence of up to four thousand separate ingredients. Mineral oil a petroleum by-product that coats the skin like plastic, clogging the pores. Interferes with skin’s ability to eliminate toxins, promoting acne and other disorders. Slows down skin function and cell development, resulting in premature aging. Used in many products (baby oil is 100% mineral oil!) Synthetic colors made from coal tar. Contain heavy metal salts that deposit toxins onto the skin, causing skin sensitivity and irritation. Animal studies have shown almost all of them to be carcinogenic. Alcohol, Isopropyl (SD-40) A very drying and irritating solvent and dehydrator that strips your skin’s natural acid mantle, making us more vulnerable to bacteria, moulds and viruses. It is made from propylene, a petroleum derivative. It may promote brown spots and premature aging of skin.
The solution: shop for natural organic skin and hair care products, particularly for children. However, you will still need to read the label!
